ChatGPT’s madness is still going strong. Recently, we talked about how some professions are at risk because of this AI, and we’ve also seen how Amazon has books written by ChatGPT that are nearly impossible to detect in most cases.
But not everything ChatGPT does has to be scary. As reported by Gizmodo, the latest invention using ChatGPT is a logic puzzle similar to Sudoku. This puzzle, according to the media outlet, has the potential to rival Wordle, and anyone can play it now.
Sumplete, the “Sudoku” of ChatGPT
The truth is that the OpenAI language model didn’t create it alone, but with the help of a developer named Daniel Tate. In fact, it came about almost by chance. Tate asked the AI if it could recommend games similar to the Japanese number puzzle, but then asked if it could design a logic game from scratch. The response from ChatGPT was Sumplete. The AI even came up with the name.
Once ChatGPT implemented the basic idea of Sumplete (which took about 30 seconds), Daniel Tate spent several hours refining and integrating the game into a website, which we’ll link to at the end of the article so you can try it out if you want.
Despite its obvious similarities to Sudoku, Sumplete has different rules. There’s a grid with numbers, like in the Japanese puzzle, but in this case, the goal is to cross out the numbers so that the sum of the remaining numbers in each row and column matches the numbers on the outside, as you can see here:

The basic grid is 3×3 squares, but the game can become more complicated up to a 9×9 grid. As the number of squares increases, the difficulty grows exponentially; the higher levels are really challenging to solve.
However, you can try Sumplete by clicking on the button below and see for yourself. The game can be really addictive (I myself have been surprised going for more once I finished a puzzle), so don’t say we didn’t warn you.
