In this Hogwarts Legacy: The Legacy of Hogwarts guide, we explain step by step all the stages of the Moonstone Garden so that you can find this item.
How to find the moonstone?
Once you have reached the Moonstone Garden, you will need to use Bombarda on the stone door on the left. Entering the new room, you will come face to face with an aggressive Fangieux. After you have finished your fight, use Accio or Repulso on the doors to proceed to the next step.
You will then arrive in a room with stone doors where signs are engraved. On some anchor points located above each of the doors, use the Accio spell to unlock the doors hiding butterflies.
If you want to take the opportunity to discover a Collection Chest, we recommend using Accio on the following doors.
Then guide the two butterflies to the mechanisms near the gate and use Repulso several times for the gate to finally open. In the new room, jump into the water and head towards the whirlpool: it will guide you to a new area.
From this new location, follow the left path and eliminate all your opponents before jumping into the water again. By following the passage to the south, you will be able to find a Collection Chest.
Once the Collection Chest is collected, turn back and take the passage to the east, then use your Accio spell on the anchor point on the left. A wall will lower, and you will find yourself back in the stone door room. At this stage, retrieve the two butterflies previously placed on the mechanisms and place them on the mechanisms in the next room.
Activate the left mechanism several times with Repulso and take the bridge that has just risen. Repeat the action, but this time with the right mechanism to raise a butterfly pedestal. Guide this butterfly to the door directly in front of you to block the bridge. Then, retrieve the other butterflies and place them on the mechanisms near the door to the west.
A new room will open, and you will need to clear it of all enemies. Once you have settled your affairs, swim towards the whirlpool to find yourself at the foot of a tree that serves as a nest for many Focifères. Climb the ledges to approach them and retrieve the Specialist Moonstone from its trunk. To continue the quest, you will need to speak with Poppy.
Once outside, follow your enchanted compass to reach the cromlech and place the Moonstone in the receptacle to trigger a cutscene. You can then talk to Poppy to learn more about her past. Retrieve the stone and talk to your companion again to complete the quest.
